So this UFO Catcher (Claw crane game) in Shimokitazawa had the strangest prize I have ever encountered. Saying that it was the strangest is a pretty big statement considering you can find these things with maid outfits and underwear as prizes. This one was filled with little individual jars containing baby Fugu 河豚 (Blow Fish). I’m guessing Peta hasn’t caught wind of this one yet?

Ohhhhhhhh!!!! You NEED one of these? Who doesn’t want a baby blow fish?
Ummm….. I’m confused….. was this in a store, restraunt, or just on the streets? A little odd, did you guys try it?!
There are tons of video arcades all over Tokyo and usually the ground floor is mostly these Crane Games. Usually the prizes are fairly typical stuffed animals and toys. This one happened to be filled with Blow Fish and was right in the front of the arcade facing the street.
Some Japanese like slightly plump things with funny faces.
They call them “かわいい(ducky)”.
A blow fish, a little pig and a little bear, etc, are some metaphors. What metaphors are they? That is a question.

Isn’t this animal abuse, scaring the hell out of fish, and using them as prizes? I know it’d be cool and all, having a baby blowfish, but making them prizes in an ardade toy, is kinda mean.
What’s the name of the shop?
I don’t know the name of the shop but I am pretty sure this is where it is located. Unfortunately it is on a street without Google Street View or I would be able to find the name. Next time I am near by I will look for the name.

what i would like to know is, that what is the name of the company who created this game, not the name of the shop.
cos this shop is not the one who created this game but there should’ve been a company who created this game and sold it to this shop.
i guess the company is sega. but not sure.
so please look at the round part of this crane. i can’t see cos the pic is too small. but next time you’re near by, check what is written on the round part in blue letters.
Thanks!
hallo,
leven de vissen nog, dan wil mijn zoon er wel een hebben om te verzorgen.
Wij vinden het zielig.
