Happy Christmas isn’t the worst Engrish I have seen but it is definitely not quite right. And while we are on the Engrish subject I may as well talk about the convenience store Sunkus. The name is the combination of the words “Sun” and “Thanks”… huh? Well it is actually the Japanese version of the word “Thanks” which is サンクス (pronounced sankusu). So basically my point is that I think the name of this convenience store qualifies for a little Engrish as well.
In case you are still reading you may be interested to know that in Japanese convenience stores are called コンビニ (pronounced conbini) which is a shortened twisted abbreviated version of the word convenient or convenience.
