Went to an amusement park in Tokyo called Yomiuriland. Since it was a Monday afternoon the park was dead with absolutely no lines to be found allowing us to ride every ride at least twice.

Took a Monjya boat ride to celebrate Todd’s 30th birthday. All you can eat all you can drink for 2 hours.
On my way home from Bowling in Machida I saw this “Dude” on the train. I just couldn’t resist taking his picture to share this with everybody.
Had my first bowling experience in Machida with Todd. All in all not very different than bowling anywhere else. The one problem was no beer!? But luckily we could bring our own.
Oh and definitely don’t do these things while bowling in Japan
Hit Koenji again with the guys for another fun night with maybe one too many drinks.
Great little Yakitori place with rare outdoor seating in Tokyo
Rented a little private studio where Grant and Scott Spun some Tunes
(Scott Spinning with Katsuo in the background)
Some of the guys were actually drinking Zima
(I guess the Zima makes the male description questionable)
So this UFO Catcher (Claw crane game) in Shimokitazawa had the strangest prize I have ever encountered. Saying that it was the strangest is a pretty big statement considering you can find these things with maid outfits and underwear as prizes. This one was filled with little individual jars containing baby Fugu 河豚 (Blow Fish). I’m guessing Peta hasn’t caught wind of this one yet?
Saw the Tokyo game show with Katsuo on Sunday. I guess I am just not as much of a super geek as I thought I was cause it turned out to be pretty disappointing. I just wasn’t willing to wait on hour long lines to try some game for 10 minutes which will probably be released in 3 months anyway. Anyway here are a few shots including some Japanese booth girls.
After the Ramen museum Todd and I hit Kirin City for some beers in Machida. Japan seems to have a love affair with Beer and a lot of foam, but Kirin City brings it to a whole other level. So much so I had to go home and learn how to ask for no foam with my beer. So the next time you are out and a little worried about too much foam be sure to say Awa Nashi De Onegaishimasu (あわなしでおねがいします).
It got pretty dead after the table of Obaachan (Grannies) behind us left…
Not a very happening night in Machida.
Todd and I spent a thrill filled afternoon at the Ramen Museum in Yokohama. Pretty cool place made to look like 1950’s Tokyo. There are 9 places to try different types of Ramen, unfortunately our stomachs only had space for 2 of them.
Fukuchan - Hakata Ramen
Ide Shoten - Tonkotsu Ramen
Schwarzenegger limited edition Ramen!
