Ok so this was a first for me. The bathroom at this Ramen shop has a little button you can press to make a flushing sound effect. Apparently the point of this is to mask any bodily noises while in the bathroom.

Saw this creepy little bank in Akihabara today. Its basically just a piggy bank but when you get your hand near the mouth it starts moving. It was really weird.
A photo of me from the Leopard Premiere at the Tokyo Ginza store is now on the Apple Japan website. You can find the picture here http://www.apple.com/jp/macosx/gallery/index3.html. From there click on the bottom right gallery picture.
Yesterday I visited the Tokyo Motor Show in Chiba with some of my school friends. Lots of super shiny cars as well as pretty girls in tiny outfits promoting cars. Actually, whenever there was a huge crowd around any particular car it was most likely because there was a girl there posing with it, as soon as she goes on break so does the crowd. The Tokyo Motor show also came complete with the Tokyo sense of no personal space. The pushing, shoving and squeezing around popular exhibits was a bit too much for me, still something I am trying to get used to here. Here are a few of my favorite pics, for the whole set visit my Flickr page here: Tokyo Motor Show 2007
This toilet kinda freaked me out today. I was at a little coffee house/restaurant in Harajuku today, when I approached the toilet to open the seat when it opened up automatically for me, I wasn’t really expecting that.
And yes, I was standing in this little bathroom taking pictures of the toilet with my phone… What of it?
I used my phone to pay for something out a vending machine for this first time today. It was pretty cool, all you do is press the button for the item you want, pass your phone over the sensor and your done. Very convenient… I got a bottle of water.
Tonight was the worldwide release of Apple’s new Operating system “Leopard” or “10.5″. Since Natsuko is an employee of Apple Tokyo I got to take part in the release without waiting on line and was let into the store a half hour before it was opened to the public. Other than a free t-shirt only worn by employees this didn’t really give me much else, at least nothing tangible. But for those of you who know me well I am a bit of a Mac fanatic so this was a great treat. Thanks Natsuko! Below is a gallery of the event.
Posting this from the Apple store in Ginza on my ipod touch using their wifi… Will post more later with pictures.
I wandered around Akihabara today which is basically the Mecca for Electronics and Manga in Tokyo and probably the world. Endless shops selling electronics, comics, games etc… It is the only place in Japan I see any concentration of overweight Japanese people. Here are a few pics, unfortunately it was a Friday afternoon so there were no Cosplay kids, Ill be sure to go back another time when they are out in force.
